Every time i see a movie in my Mac with of course in its default Movie player - QuickTime, I always get irritated with its Seek bar. I have a habit of seeking back the movie to re-watch the favorite scenes in them. To do this i generally move the seek bar cursor to reach to that scene time stamp which i just found good. Doing this in Windows Media player - Windows default media player is very easy because the Seek bar in Windows media player is wide enough to move the seek cursor to particular time stamp . (More to this Windows media player plays audio video both not like Mac which has two players for Audio and Video i.e., iTunes and QuickTime ). Basically Windows media player’s seek bar extends from very left of the screen to ver right leaving long enough place to seek the movie to desired time stamp.

But in contrast QuickTime in Mac has a very small controller which cant also be resized ( why ???????? ) . The controller fits all controls including seek bar . Moving the time stamp cursor in QuickTime seek bar never reaches to the exact desired time stamp . Because of this i hate to see movies in QuickTime . And even if i see movies in QuickTime i use the fast forward/backward button to reach to the desired time stamp to re-watch my favorite scene . I find this particular control in QuickTime very frustating . What about you?

Well today i quickly noticed some kind of bug ( or a neglected thing ? ) in iTunes Latest version thats iTunes 8. I downloaded a Podcast video and was watching it . I went full screen ( Command + F ) . When i wanted to come out of the full screen mode ( again Command + F ) to normal mode it didn’t actually come to normal mode but it showed me the downloaded Podcast file instead of the video playing in smaller screen . As compared to Quicktime its not similar and i suppose its a bug or something which is neglected in iTunes 8 ?

Most of you coming to this blog must be wondering about the Mac like Dock which shows up at the bottom of this blog . Well I created a WordPress plugin while creating this blog . I was heavily inspired by the Mac Style Dock JavaScript from Stephen Morley . And i wanted to use the script in my site macphobia . Later i decided to make it easy to use to every WordPress blog users and decided to create a plugin . I dont know much about PHP language and this is my first ever WordPress plugin . Everyone is invited to make any correction to the code . Suggestions and feature requests are welcome but it will take time for me to present you what you want the plugin to be .
Icons are downloaded from various icon sites like iconspedia.com, interfacelift.com etc and were modified .
Usage is pretty straight forward. Follow the below steps
1. Just extract the plugin
2. Put it in the WordPress plugin folder
3. And activate it .
4. Go to WordPress Setting page then to MacDock
5. Configure the number of icons to display and URLs
Tested with WordPress Verions 2.5 and 2.6 and later . Should work fine for others too , If not Please contact me.

For some unknown reason i cant see Thesaurus and Dictionary tabs in Mac leopard’s inbuilt Dictionary App. Somehow i dont have the libraries for them . And i am searching for a good English to English third party Dictionary program ( Application in Mac language ) in the Internet . I am not able to find just one. What the heck. Do people using mac have just one taste of dictionary or are they too much satisfied with Apple’s inbuilt Dictionary app in Mac Leopard . And yes Dictionary application in Leopard doesn’t have Pronunciation with Sound right ? How can you Apple Mac users be satisfied with this inbuilt dictionary app with no pronunciation sound feature . May be Apple Mac is made for English speaking countries and assuming nobody needs sound pronunciation .Damn its not easy to switch to Mac from Windows and there is no need to switch may be

This is one of the thing which bugs me in Apple Mac OS X . In windows i do closing of programs directly from the windows task bar at the bottom . When windows are grouped I even can close all the window groups at once from the right mouse click . There is no such feature in Mac OS X . Mac needs more than one click to do that close function for minimized program ( application ) window . And every minimized window needs individual treatment to close them . In Mac right clicking on the minimized application windows just shows one option to open that window . This single option is as good as maximize menu in windows right click on windows task bar. One of the several reason windows is better than Mac .
