Command Tab Screen
I am used to using Alt Tab in Windows to quickly switch between multiple window screens i have opened ( Multitasking 
). The similar key combination and feature is also present in Mac. The key combination in Mac is Command + Tab which is similar to Windows’ Alt + Tab. But i find Mac’s Command+Tab feature not of great use.

The problem is unlike in windows when pressed appropriate key to bring switcher screen Mac doesn’t show multiple Finder icons with appropriate title even if there are more than one Finder windows . Mac just shows just one icon for Finder that too without any title of the Finder window its going to open when selected. With other applications as well switcher screen in Mac doesn’t show any title. It just tells you the application name in title . Not very user friendly 
. Macs are known for being more user friendly and good UI ?..
Talking about UI . Vista has another key shortcut ( Windows key + Tab ) which brings up the switcher window in a fantastic flip 3D screen UI also known as Aero style . I really enjoy this switcher screen in Vista.
And yes the concept of app switcher was first adopted by Windows .

Using
Pressing Command-Tab on the Mac is a way to switch between running applications, not between all the windows open on your screen. Once you’ve switched to an app you can press Command-~ (tilde, next to the ‘z’ key) to cycle through the windows that belong to the app you’re currently in. This works in the Finder, Safari, Microsoft Word, etc.
Here’s what you need to understand about the difference between Windows and the Mac: a window on the Mac represents a document whereas a window in Windows represents an application. On the Mac switching between applications has nothing to do with switching between windows that you can see on the screen. As you are probably aware, a running app on the Mac may have no windows open at all! Generally when you switch to an app all its open windows come to the “front” of the screen. One way to tell which app is the current one (i.e. receiving keyboard input) on the Mac is to look at the menubar; this has been the way the Mac has worked since 1984. Also, the Mac has had an application switcher since 1988. It was a pull-down menu in the top-right corner of the screen and was part of Multi Finder (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MultiFinder). You can get a similar sort of thing in OS X using this program: http://vercruesse.de/software/asm. Granted this is not the same as the Alt-Tab switcher that Windows uses. It’s pretty clear that Apple copied ideas from Windows’ Alt-Tab switcher when it implemented the Command-Tab functionality.

I love my Mac, but hate the task switcher. Switching between apps but not windows is plain un-intuitive, you can’t flick between two documents easily and cycling through docs (instead of switching) with the cmd+tilde is cumbersome at best.
The windows way is definitely better in this instance, IMO.
Help is at hand though - go to the app store and get ‘Witch’ a great little app that gives you identical behaviour to windows alt+tab (and plenty more options besides).
I have this on both my macs and my workflow is far more fluid as a result.
